Joe Gordon

Joe Gordon

Joe Gordon is one of Texas' premier songwriters. His songs appear on several CD projects by many of today's gospel ministries, including the nationally reknowned Palmetto State Quartet (PSQ). In addition to writing music, Joe currently sings with Ransomed. Joe's television appearances include The Jim Baker Show, Texas Country Gospel, and Claude Gray Music USA. Joe started the Rodeo City Gospel Show in July of 2005. Held on the first Friday of the month, the Gospel Show has grown dramatically over the years.

Joe has written many great songs over the years, including Raging Seas (released nationally in 2008), soon-to-be-released The Aisle, and I Can See Heaven (nominated for 2013 Song Of The Year by members of the SGMA of Texas!).

PSQ's single, A Moment of Grace, written by Joe, was the Number #1 song in all of Inspirational Country and Southern Gospel music for August 2012 according to Cashbox and Christian Voice magazines. The GraceChord family is proud to call this talented songwriter one of our own.

Kevin Alvis

Kevin Alvis is a talented songwriter and artist currently singing with Robert Lange and Rod Wood in The Ambassadors Trio of Texas. His goal is to bring the Word of God in song, and his songs do just that! Kevin had this to say about signing with GraceChord...

"It is with great joy and excitement that I join with John Graves and Gracechord for the furtherance of the Gospel in music. I'm Kevin Alvis, and I was born and raised here in Texas. Much of my youth was spent as a Pastor's son, all of my youth was spent singing, playing and loving Gospel music. I served 7 years, full-time, on church staffs as Music director and Assistant Pastor. I can tell you that I loved every moment spent in local church ministry. The Lord has blessed me to have been a part of many trios, quartets, and solo work for 42 years. And now for the past two years God has allowed me to pen the thoughts and truths He has taught me through His word and life's experiences.

John Graves IS Gracechord. John is a man of integrity, honesty and forthrightness. It is my privilege to have met him, and now know
him and trust him. I love the old-time, old fashioned sounds of Gospel music!! It is the music of help, hope and healing that comes
through meeting and knowing the Precious Lamb of Calvary. John and the great folks at Gracechord share that love and that is what
binds our hearts together."

We at GraceChord are honored and excited to work with Kevin and present his inspired music to the world!

Robert "Bob" Lange

Robert "Bob" Lange grew up in a preacher’s home surrounded by music. His father was a singing evangelist, and his mother played the organ and piano.  At age six, Bob was standing on chairs with boxes on top singing trios with his Dad and brother Rick, who was sixteen months older than him.

Through the years they sang in the trio (then named the Ambassadors for Christ), and the Word of Life Quartet in evangelistic meetings and at camp meetings all over the country.  Brother Rick went off to the army and Bob went off to college, ending the family harmonies.  Over the years Bob continued to sing solos and with groups in churches.

God continues to work through Bob, and his latest original work, How Can It Be, was nominated by the SGMA of Texas for 2013 Song Of The Year! We are excited to add Bob to the GraceChord family of songwriters!

Rita Moore Barber

Rita Moore Barber was born in Terrell, Texas and raised in a Baptist family. She gave her heart to the Lord at the age of 16 during a service led by her father, who was pastor of the church at the time.

Gospel music has been an integral part of her life since she can remember. "My earliest memories as a young child are sitting in my grandmother's lap in the choir." Since then, Rita has sung as a soloist, formed a female trio and sang with a quartet with three brothers. She has often seen God work miracles in many lives.

Rita has an outstanding style of low harmony singing, developed through experience with a long line of alto singers. Her extended vocal range allows her to sing anything from low harmony to high tenor, depending on the music.

In the 1990's, Rita helped form the Birthright trio, where she sang and began her songwriting career. After 1992, Rita took a break from writing until 2013, when she and John Graves co-wrote Home Forevermore. That song jumpstarted Rita's songwriting and she currently has dozens of songs to her credit. Rita currently sings with her husband, Johnny, and writes and arranges music for them.

Her ministry goal is to follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit through prayer, testimony and music.

Johnny H. Barber

Johnny Howard Barber was born in Mineola, Texas, and raised in South Louisiana about thirty miles west of Baton Rouge. He began his musical career playing trombone in the band at the age of 12 and started playing piano at the age of 16. He graduated college with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education.

Johnny met the Lord and surrendered to the ministry at the age of 32 at a revival meeting in Tickfaw, Louisiana, and he has been truly blessed since that time with many ministry opportunities.

His extensive musical training has enabled him to play for several trio and quartet ministries through the years. He also traveled with the Peter Popoff crusades for six months, where he saw the hand of God work in many regions, including Ontario, New York, and Chicago.

Johnny was the keyboard player and a very talented songwriter and vocalist for Birthright, a group he helped form in 1985. With his musical background and vocal ability, he continues to write and arrange music and currently sings with his wife, Rita..

Through the Holy Spirit, Johnny continues to bless audiences across the country.

John Graves

John Graves has a rich heritage of 40 years in southern gospel music. From 1974 until 1984, John sang Lead and Baritone vocals for his family quartet, the Graves Gospel Singers, as they traveled throughout the southern US. At the age of nine, John gave his life to the Lord, and at seventeen, John was called as a Music Minister to Friendship Baptist Church in Riderville, Texas, where he stayed through college.

While in college, John sang with many professional organizations, including the Shreveport Chamber Singers of Shreveport, Louisiana, and the Marshall Symphony Chorus of Marshall, Texas.

All through college, John continued a solo career singing a blend of contemporary Christian and southern gospel sounds. In 1994, John formed the Southern Harmony quartet of Tyler, Texas, where he continued to minister until March of 1996. In October of 2004, John helped establish the Of One Accord quartet in Frisco, Texas, where he ministered for eight years.

Beginning in 2004, John began writing music and continues to write and arrange music when God inspires him. In 2013, John joined Birthright Ministries, where he sang, wrote and arranged music for its ministry. John currently enjoys a successful solo career.

John has a sincere desire to uplift and encourage the saved and lead the lost to Christ through the ministries of southern gospel music and testimony.
